The upgrade options for the Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway intersection aim to improve safety in the area, by elevating and separating the Warrego Highway from the Brisbane Valley Highway and Wulkuraka Connection Road intersection.

The objective of the project is to

• minimise delays for motorists
• minimise the need to resume property.
• ensure upgrade options will operate safely
• ensure community benefits outweigh the costs of work
• ensure safe and convenient access across the highway for local residents and businesses
• ensure intersections are simple and easy to understand, particularly at the interchanges
• ensure expected future traffic flows will run smoothly through the intersections
• make use of the existing highway where possible, rather than building new roads
